Front propeller shaft yoke sleeve assembly for Toyota 4x4

This driveshaft component links the front prop shaft to the transfer case, housing the universal joint and a slip-spline sleeve. It keeps torque flowing smoothly while allowing length changes as the suspension moves—no binding, no rattle, just steady power off-road and on highways.

Why you need it ⚙️

It maintains precise alignment of the U-joint, controls axial movement, and seals in grease. A fresh yoke/sleeve reduces vibration, backlash, and wear on the transfer case output and the shaft itself.

How it works

The splined sleeve slides over the prop shaft splines, the forged yoke captures the U-joint caps, and a seal/grease channel keeps lubrication where it belongs. Balanced machining minimizes harmonics at speed.

If it’s worn or broken ⚠️

Expect launch “clunk,” shudder between 60–80 km/h, vibration under load, grease slung around the underbody, and play at the joint. Continued use can crack U-joints, chew splines, and damage the transfer case—potentially losing front drive.

Build and install tips

Heat-treated steel, precision splines, corrosion protection. During install: mark phasing, inspect seals, torque flange bolts to spec, pack with quality moly grease, and check runout. Rebalance shaft if needed.
