This component is needed to accurately report the fuel amount inside the tank to the dashboard gauge. How It Works

Inside the tank, a float moves up and down with the fuel level. That movement drives a variable resistor (signal track). As resistance changes, the instrument cluster reads the signal and positions the needle (or display) to show the current fuel level. Smooth float travel and clean electrical contact are key to steady, accurate readings.

When It Fails ⚠️

A worn resistor track, stuck float, or poor connector can cause a gauge that reads empty/full all the time, fluctuates while driving, or drops suddenly. If ignored, you may run out of fuel without warning, and the fuel warning light may act incorrectly. Replacing the unit restores stable readings and dependable monitoring.
