This viscous fan coupling is a vital cooling system part that helps control engine temperature in tough city driving, towing, off-road use, and hot weather. It connects the engine-driven fan to the pulley and allows the fan to speed up only when extra cooling is needed, reducing noise, fuel load, and unnecessary engine drag.
Why This Part Is Needed ?️
The engine must stay within its correct working temperature. When the radiator gets hot, the fan coupling engages and pulls more air through the radiator core. This helps protect the cylinder head, gasket, coolant hoses, and radiator from heat damage.
How It Works ?
Inside the coupling is silicone fluid and a temperature-sensitive control. When heat rises, the internal valve allows fluid to transfer torque, making the fan rotate stronger. When cooling demand drops, it partially slips, so the fan slows down smoothly.
