Why this part is needed

This overrunning alternator pulley keeps the serpentine belt stable and your charging system efficient. It damps crank vibrations, reduces belt flutter, and protects the alternator at high RPM. Replacing a worn unit restores quiet operation, steady voltage, and longer belt life.

How it works

Inside is a one‑way clutch/decoupler. Under acceleration it locks to drive the alternator; during sudden deceleration it freewheels, letting the alternator coast. This cuts shock loads, prevents belt slap, stabilizes voltage, and reduces stress on bearings and accessories.

What happens if it’s broken

Expect chirping or rattling at idle, dimming lights, irregular voltage, shaky belt, or frayed edges. If ignored, it can snap the belt, overheat bearings, trigger the charge light, drain the battery, and even cause loss of assist to power steering and A/C.

Tech notes & install tips

Precision steel body with anti‑corrosion finish. Match the offset and thread. Use the correct OAP removal tool—do not clamp the rotor. Check alignment and tensioner; a fresh belt is recommended for best results.
