Why this part is needed
Over time, clamp load drops and the disc slips, especially under hard acceleration or uphill. A fresh unit prevents power loss, protects the flywheel, and stops shudder. It is the best fix when the pedal gets heavy, vague, or the clutch bites too high.
How it works ⚙️
The diaphragm spring presses the pressure plate against the clutch disc and flywheel. When you press the pedal, the release bearing lifts the spring, freeing the disc so gears change without grind. Correct clamp force = no slip, smooth shift.
If it’s worn or broken
Expect slip at high revs, burnt smell, judder on launch, noisy shifts, and heat spots on the flywheel. Continued use can glaze the disc, warp the plate, and stress gearbox synchros.

Replace as a set (disc + release + pilot). Resurface flywheel, torque bolts in a star pattern, align disc, and bed‑in for 300–500 km.
