Information

Steering Outer Tie Rod Socket Kit ?

Restore confident, straight-line driving with this outer tie rod socket kit. Built to OEM-grade specs, it renews the steering linkage so your wheels track true, tires wear evenly, and road feel is crisp. Perfect for high-mileage work vans and light trucks that demand durability and precise alignment.

Why you need it ?

The outer joint is the final link from the steering rack/center link to the knuckle. Over time its ball-and-socket wears, grease dries, and the boot can crack. Replacing the assembly removes play, fixes toe drift, and cures shimmy after bumps.

How it works ?

A hardened ball stud pivots inside a lubricated socket, allowing the wheel to turn while holding alignment. The threaded section mates to the inner tie rod for toe adjustment; the taper seats firmly in the steering knuckle. A sealed boot locks in grease and blocks water and dirt.

When worn or broken ⚠️

Signs include loose steering, clunking over rough roads, feathered tire wear, pulling, and unstable braking. Severe failure can let the stud separate from the knuckleβ€”sudden loss of steering control. Replace at first symptoms and align afterward for best results.
