Why you need it

Combustion leaves metal dust, soot, and sludge in the oil. This filter traps those particles to protect bearings, cams, lifters, and turbo. Clean oil reduces wear, stabilizes oil pressure, and maintains quiet, smooth running.

How it works ⚙️

The oil pump pushes oil through the pleated media. An anti-drainback valve keeps oil in the gallery for safe cold starts. A calibrated bypass opens briefly if oil is too thick or the media is saturated, preventing starvation.

If it fails ⚠️

Clogging sends unfiltered oil through the bypass, accelerating engine wear. A collapsed element or torn seal can cause low pressure, start-up rattle, leaks, overheating, or turbo damage. Replace at scheduled intervals, pre-oil the gasket, then hand-tighten 3/4 turn. ⛽✅
